PowerDVD is a Windows based media player developed by CyberLink designed to play DVD movies with later versions supporting the majority of video formats including blue-ray videos, music and photo viewer.

CyberLink released PowerDVD 1.0 in 1996 and was a standalone DVD player for computers running the Windows OS and was released as shareware with PC systems and through their website. With all versions the user interface has always been attractive and easy to use with newly added features with each new version. Later versions improved support for other video formats such as VCD, DivX and supported audio playback. Today we see PowerDVD 12.0 and it is no longer a standalone DVD player but an all-in-one multimedia player, with enhanced video quality with the ability to transform your blue-ray or DVD movies into 3D (requires 3D glasses and screen), YouTube integration to search and play videos and supports many video and audio formats with a visually stunning UI.
